I hope that I will be forgiven for this post - it's about my amazing dog, Angel. I just have to get this off my chest, if you're not into pets, I'm sorry and I won't do it again.
I researched dogs to find a breed that was small, light-weight, hypoallergenic, and would make a good companion. I can't get out much because of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and arthritis. Angel is a 5 year old Maltese who thinks he's a German Shepherd. He is a pure breed, neutered male. He weighs in at about 5 lbs. He is 9 inches long from his shoulders and 9 inches tall. Angel has this attitude that don't quit. He thinks he's the lead dog of the family, except for when one of his humans are home. Hang in there, I'm almost to the point!
I have spoiled the little guy, babied him, and talk to him as if he's a human child. He hates it. He used to refuse getting brushed by me and he's bit me countless time. Yes, I now have a muzzle for him and he's decided I can't bathe him, either.
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! His name is Cesar and is called "The Dog Whisperer." This man is totally amazing. He can cure almost any dog of bad behavior by using very simple techniques and advise for the humans on how to manage their dog. He's on cable and I promise I'll find out what channel he's on. After using some of his techniques, Angel treats me with a whole lot more respect. I can even brush him and he doesn't attack me. We are currently working on him accepting me as the lead dog of the pack.
It's just totally amazing to see my Angel changing his attitude. Oh, and he likes being a dog - something I guess I didn't realize before.
His "baby" picture is on top, and his "adult" picture is on the bottom. Hope you enjoyed this post!
I love that show also. It is on the National Geographic Channel. I have used these techniques on my dogs also and they seem to work. I just have to keep at it. As Ceasar would say, "cchhucchh" (you have to see the show).

Your dog sounds a lot like our family dog (his photo blog is here: http://naughtydogg.blogspot.com), and looks a lot like him when he was young, too. Well, I guess it's a relief to hear that the he-thinks-he's-a-German-Shepherd-alpha-dog problem can be cured.

And still, this does not beat my sister having one of her cats on anti depressants....
Thank you for an entertaining read. I miss my dog and it was nice reading about someone elses.

The Dog Whisperer really is amazing. I think I've seen every episode. I try to use his techniques too. He's great. :)

What a cute dog. When I was growing up we always had small poodles. Little dogs are the best, and are very smart.

You mentioned having fibromyalgia. I've recently just heard of this...the dr's are trying to say that's what my husband's mom has. I'm curious about it and would like it if you could chat w/ me about it sometime. My email addy is [email protected]. If you know of any good sites where I could read up about it also, that would be great! What are your symptoms and how are you being treated?
Your little puppy is the cutest! My hubby and his mom also had a little Maltese a few years ago. We just got a boxer puppy...he's almost 6 months! Growing like a weed!!!
