OK, I said I wouldn't keep posting on my Maltese aka German Shepherd, Angel, but I couldn't resist. He's got so much spunk and is even more stubborn than I am! The one thing that really bothers me is that he goes postal when I give him a bath.
Keep in mind that he's a WHITE dog. I am a responsible and loving human. He had a bath last night because of some sticky icky on his butt. When only certain areas need to be washed, that's what gets washed in between baths. Angel is a high maintenance dog. I even have to brush his teeth with the muzzle on. He used to be a lot more docile, and allow me to do what I had to do. I don't know what to do with him, I just want to snuggle with him and he starts to growl.
He did have a situation with a groomer a few years ago. This idiot shaved him bald on his underside, and nicked him in several places. I was outraged. Poor honey. After that episode, I borrowed my son's Flowbee (you use it with a vacuum cleaner and it sucks up the hair and chops it off at a chosen length). Well, that worked great, and we were both happy. The only problem was that his hair is so thick, it was clogging the cutting device.
His aggression may also be a product of my trying to teach him to smile. I thought it would be just too funny to take him to see Santa and tell him to smile for the picture. Magine?? I knew a man who had a pit bull and he smiled without getting aggressive, so I thought my little darling would cooperate. Oh he would smile when I said "smile" but then he would get really aggressive and attack me. Anybody have any suggestions??
The top picture was when he was cooperative, and the bottom picture is after he has lost the battle of the bath.
Oh how cute! When I was a kid, my mom would take my poodle to the groomer, when he came back he looked and smelled like a girl. Bows on his ears and everything! Poor dog didn't know his gender. He was nice and clean though. You're a good mommy. Happy Mothers Day by the way.

Maybe you're crowding him. He's growling to let you know he wants some time to himself.

I did notice something strange about the dogs smile at the bottom, but I figured that it was the medicine doing strange things to my brain!

How old is the dog? Sometimes older dogs become more aggressive and snappish.

Here’s an idea. I leave a comment like this one in your comments section with a link to my website then you go to my site and do the same. Just another way to get more back links to your site and boost your search engine ranking. Good idea?

I've had a couple of dogs that smiled, but none of them were trained, they just did it. If you figure out how to teach dogs to do this please post it, because it really is one of the coolest things. It always freaks people who don't know the dog (which can be hilarious), and it makes for great pictures.

The photo is a fake. Give credit to who ever photoshopped it (I doubt it was you) and move on.

Blew me away when I seen that face on the bottom picture! Um, by some chance is this one those once in a life time *special* breeds of a Man-dog or is it a Hum-dog-man?

I hate the lady at the spa. It really does hurt a puppy but what hurts worse is having your fur matted so I swallow my pride, cry a little and afterward I look pretty. I bet Angel hates it as much as I do. I'm a big fur ball and I am very high maintenance. Mommy has to wash my face at least three times a day. I am a real pain but a good one because I'm the reward!! tehe
