I found some of my cousins at Classmates.com. It was great to find
my cousins - we were good friends when I was a little girl. My
mother's cousin and her kids were so much fun to be around. They were
always laughing and so were we when my mother, brother and I were with
them.
Looking back, I'm wondering if anyone ever did this: we
used to call our cousins "Cousin" and then their name. Like Cousin
Ronnie, Cousin Natalie, Cousin Trudie, Cousin David, etc. We are not
from the south, we are from New Jersey, born and raised. We did this on
both sides of the family, too. I wish I had a dollar for each cousin I
have! I have a gazillion cousins. We were raised around family get
togethers. It was awesome.
I think that people used to stay put
more years ago. My dad graduated from the high school I graduated
from, and I actually became friends with some of the kids of his
classmates! I couldn't raise my kids around cousins because the
brother, Uncle Vito, moved his family to California and I moved "down
the shore." Good friends became "family." Now some friends have moved
away, too. I think it sucks.
Hm..........never referred to cousins as "cousin blah, blah". Not a Jersey thing, that I know of!
But here's a good one for you! My Dad and I had the same 1st grade teacher!
Peace....................

I belong to Classmates too. I always wonder what my school buddies are doing these days. Those pictures are beautiful!

Helen, that's because you left NJ before you became senile.

Trudie, me and my cousins do the same thing. My cousin Angie's husband thinks we're nuts. So, of course I never miss an opportunity to call him "Cousin Art!"
